I’ve designed ads for Studio Luxe for years, so I wanted this one to feel new. Using a column-based layout inspired by fashion retail trends, I highlighted texture, shape, and color while keeping the design clean and modern.
Bold “THANK YOU” typography and generous white space let the dresses take center stage, delivering a clear message of appreciation while celebrating the Readers’ Choice win.
I was asked to create a thank-you ad with no direction, so I focused on Cast Iron’s winning categories: Best Burger and Best Bartender. When their website didn’t have a photo that did the food justice, I walked over to the restaurant and got the shot myself.
Working on the fly with the cook and bartender, we chose the right burger, stacked it perfectly, and added a freshly poured pint. I staged the photo in front of their drink board to keep the scene authentic. The result was a simple, celebratory image that felt real and unmistakably Cast Iron.
This one came together quickly once the right image surfaced. It matched The Dog Spa’s playful logo perfectly, from the tub color to the bubbly feel. I extended the background to fit the ad size and added custom bath bubbles and paw print details to bring in extra personality.
The result is a lighthearted thank you to the community for naming The Dog Spa Best Dog Groomer two years in a row. Wet noses, wagging tails, and a business that puts love into every sudsy snout.
The client asked for one thing: a Fender Stratocaster.
I studied the iconic shape and recreated it in his brand colors, using visual metaphor to connect music and HVAC. The guitar strings became flowing warm and cool air, the pickups were reimagined as vents, and the control knobs echoed heating and cooling controls.
The result was a custom illustration that felt personal, playful, and unmistakably his. He loved it.
I’ve designed ads for 4J’s since they first opened, working within a very limited set of brand assets. This year, instead of repeating the same layout, I wanted to try something new while still honoring what people recognize.
I chose two of their beers with the most contrasting colors and built the concept around a celebratory cheers. Using custom illustration and careful shading, I created a warm, dimensional scene that felt social, inviting, and distinctly 4J’s. The result refreshed the look without losing the familiarity their audience expects.
