To promote the grand opening of Alias, a new upscale dining experience, through visually striking print ads that reflected the elegance and sophistication of the brand ā and made a strong first impression in both print and digital formats.
I served as the sole designer on this project, leading the creative direction from concept to execution.
Before diving into design, I took the initiative to research Aliasās brand identity and studied their website, which leaned into a clean, minimalist aesthetic. My goal was to translate that refined digital presence into a print format ā staying on brand while delivering the essential information with clarity and restraint.
I designed two ads: one featuring a dramatic black-and-white layout with full-color food imagery that drew immediate focus to the cuisine, and another that used a dynamic composition where the dish visually pulled forward from the chefās hands ā creating energy and movement while maintaining an elegant tone. Balancing visual impact with brand alignment was key.
The ads successfully captured Aliasās upscale identity and stood out across print and digital platforms. Their clean aesthetic and conceptual strength earned recognition in the 2023 Virginia Press Association Awards ā 2nd place in the Food & Drug category and 3rd place in Digital Advertising.
